W. Frank Dees

Frank Dees is Founder and Managing Director of Experi-Ed Learning Concepts and is also Managing Director of his namesake company Dees Consulting Group. He holds a M.S. Degree in Organization and Management from the Wharton School and Capella University, and a B.S. Degree in Production Management from New York University.  He is currently in the Dissertation phase of his Doctoral Degree studies in Instructional Design and Distance Learning.  Frank has also taken advanced studies from such prestigious schools as Harvard and Columbia Universities.  He brings over 35 years of successful diversified experience designing and executing business strategy and change management, including those involving Outplacement Programs, Project Management, and Employee Recognition and Engagement.  Dees has served on several boards and is a member of numerous local and national professional organizations.  He is an experienced Counselor to Senior Management and is a recognized expert in the formation of entrepreneurial ventures, corporate development, capital formation, and corporate governance programs. Prior to the formation of Dees Consulting Group, Frank was an Executive Vice President and Partner of The Hay Group, held Managing Director positions with Manchester Partners International, Goodrich and Sherwood, and was a Senior Vice President of Wm. Stack Associates.  In addition to DCG, Frank has founded four other successful Entrepreneurial consulting ventures – Application Systems Group (ASG), College Recruiting Inc. (CRI), Corporate Governance, LLC and Experi-ED Learning Concepts. 

In the corporate world Dees has held both Corporate Officer and Director level positions with International Paper Company, Loews Corporation and Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS).  He has been an integral part of the business community throughout his distinguished career and his professionalism has assisted him in not only succeeding in his own entrepreneurial ventures, but also assisting others in achieving their personal and professional goals.

Mike Womack has over 25 years combined experience in academia and business relating to project based learning, information technology, project management, and the commercial arts. He is co-founder of Experi-ED Learning Concepts, and specializes in linking business with higher education to provide enhanced learning opportunities to students through project-based learning. Mike is currently working with Carilion Clinics as a Team Leader in the Academic Technology Services Group which serves the education pillar of Carilion including the (JCHS) Jefferson College of Health Sciences and the (VTC) Virginia Tech School of Medicine. Prior to this, Mike provided consulting services to the County of Roanoke Communication and Information Technology Department working in various project management and business analyst roles serving several government administrative departments.  He also served as Senior Director of Information Services for the Certified Medical Representatives Institute (CMRI) providing strategic leadership and direction in the development of the Institute's first sanctioned IT department to support all aspects of the technology needs and functions of the organization.  He oversaw the development of a cohesive technology infrastructure that was highly scalable and flexible to support and manage electronic data interchange services with IT departments of 13 major pharmaceutical corporations including global and national clients such as Pfizer, Wyeth, Abbott Laboratories, Novartis, Bayer, GlaxoSmithKline, and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Mike received his certification in Project Management (PMP) in 2005 and is currently Chapter Proesident for the Southwest Virginia Chapter of the Project Management Institute.  He also served seven years as a Board Member for the Valleys of Virginia Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), and continues to serve as an active member in the local chapter of ASTD, as well as the Roanoke Blacksburg Technology Council.  He received his Associate’s degree at VWCC (Virginia Western Community College), completed several advanced courses at Roanoke College, earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Information Technology from Capella University, and is continuing his advanced studies toward his MBA at Capella University and LSU (Louisiana State University). Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, Mike and his family currently live in the beautiful Roanoke Valley.
